Overview: Mew is a curious psychic type Pokémon. It is considered a legendary Pokémon, and is very rare and difficult to catch. It was originally released in the games, Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, which is the first generation of Pokémon games. It has a happy-go-lucky nature, and loves to play games. Because of its appearance, personality, and rarity, it is very popular.
History/Biology: Mew is the New Species Pokémon, named due to its status as a mythical creature, even within the lore of the games. It is a baby pink, cat-like Pokémon with a very minimalistic design. It has short ears, large eyes, and no visible nose. It has short front limbs, large back limbs, and a long thin tail which ends with a thick oval. It has powerful psychic power which it uses to suspended itself in the air, instead of walking normally. Though it looks bald at first glance, it actually has short, fine hair covering its entire body.
Its fossils have been found in South America, and it is considered by most to be extinct. It is able to learn every Pokémon move, which has led many scientists to believe that it is the ancestor of all Pokémon. It also seems to carry the DNA of all Pokémon, which makes it able to transform into any other Pokémon at will. It can turn invisible in order to avoid detection. It is said that Mew will only reveal itself to those who seek it out with a pure heart, and good intentions.
