Overview: Meowth is a zany, normal type Pokémon. It is the first in a two-stage evolutionary line, which also includes Persian. It has an Alolan form, which is dark type. The original Meowth debuted in Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, which is the first generation of Pokémon games. Alolan Meowth debuted in Pokémon Sun and Moon, which is the seventh generation of Pokémon games. Because of its reoccurring appearance as a minor comic relief villain in the Pokémon anime, Meowth is somewhat popular.

History/Biology: Meowth is the Scratch Cat Pokémon, named due to its appearance and its tendency to fight with its claws. It is a cream colored, bipedal cat, with long arms, and a tail with a curled tip. It has black ears, and brown on the tips of its feet and tail. It has large slitted eyes, long whiskers, and an old Japanese coin on its forehead. Meowths are nocturnal, and love shiny things. They will often patrol their territory at night, hoarding any lost change they might find. They can be quite fickle, and are not very trustworthy. They often get in fights with Murkrows, who are also attracted to shiny objects.

Alolan Meowth differs from normal Meowth in appearance. They are a grey color, with black ears, and a white tipped tail and feet. They were originally brought to Alola to be pets for the royal family a long time ago. They have since turned feral and roam the wild. They are very fickle and prideful, and require a great deal of attention. If ever insulted, they can perform impressive tantrums.
