Overview: Eevee is a lovable, normal type Pokémon. It has 8 possible evolutions, including Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. It is, by far, one of the most popular Pokémon in the entire franchise, rivaled only by Pikachu itself. It originally debuted in the games Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, which are the first Pokémon games. Though not originally created to be a starter Pokémon, it has become a starter in XD and Let’s Go Eevee. It is often seen as a counterpart to Pikachu, especially after the release of the Let’s Go games.

History/Biology: Eevee is the Evolution Pokémon, named due to its many possible evolutions. It is a small, brown, dog with large pointy ears and a fluffy tail. It has a cream-colored mane around its neck, and cream at the tip of its tail. It has large eyes and spiky hair on its head. It is a very simplistic design, and not very competitively viable. However, this does not decrease its popularity among fans.

Because of Eevee’s unique ability to evolve into several different Pokémon, the term Eeveelutions was coined to refer to its entire evolutionary family. Every member of its family is a different type. Though it only started with three evolutions (Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon), it quickly gained more in subsequent generations due to its popularity. Eevee gained Espeon and Umbreon in generation 2, Glaceon and Leafeon in generation 4, and Sylveon in generation 6. Many people are also expecting a new Eeveelution for generation 8, which has not yet been released.
